If this is your first visit, welcome to my blog! I am a nurse, resilience coach, retired nurse-midwife and I now have my dream business creating fun and functional art. I am excited to let readers know that Art from the Hartt’s blog is about to undergo some amazing changes. I will be posting more frequently and sharing my art processes with you!
Up until now, I have used the blog for monthly shop updates – both for Etsy and Country Flair. I plan to keep those updates coming, too. However, the meat of the blog will now be ART!!! The focus of the site will be the blog vs serving as a traditional business website.
Acrylic Pour Process Videos
Here is an example of a Instagram Reel I did a few months ago making a clock called Arizona Sunset. Please feel free to follow me on Instagram, too! I will be posting more of these types of process videos here on the blog.
The process videos show the unique process of each of my paintings. And, they give readers an opportunity to comment and engage! And, ask questions. I welcome other artists to participate!
I live in an older home and I do my acrylic pours in the old “workshop” area of the house. It is where all the old fuses were and where the previous family did a lot of their DIY work. I turned it into a little art area and I call it the Art Cove, because it is a tiny space wedged behind the furnace. Sometimes it is a little creepy with basement noises. (I have a more traditional art desk upstairs, but downstairs is perfect for messy acrylic pouring and cement projects.)

I am excited to share the history of each of my art pieces with the world!
Here is the Etsy listing for the piece you saw created above in the Instagram reel. If you are interested in purchasing, the caption or photo will take you to the listing with a click. If you are local to Montrose and prefer to pick it up – please email me and I can arrange a local pick-up at Country Flair downtown.

I want to keep the blog posts fairly short and manageable (so I have time for art), but also include inside information on my art pieces. I hope readers find this more engaging. I think it will be loads of fun even if I do have an occasional spider in the basement!

Be sure to subscribe to the blog in the box below for email updates of new posts! No spiders included 🙂
