Meet the Valentines Gnomes

Each of my handmade gnomes start their life being cast in a mold that I import from Sweden. Once the cement cures, I paint them using acrylic pour paint. I choose vibrant Valentines colors of pink and red tones. I use a layered cup and do slightly different combos on each gnome. I add some oil to form some cells on the hats. The acrylic paint must cure first. Then I add pale pink beards. I also include other highlights to give them that cute gnome personality. Each one is a unique, handmade piece of art.

Don’t like pink? My gnomes come in different colors. I have some traditional red and green combo gnomes. I do pour paint to align with major holiday themes. These include fall (Halloween and Thanksgiving), Christmas (winter), Valentine Day, and Saint Patrick’s Day (leprechaun style). Coming soon are Easter (spring) and 4th of July (summer) themes.

Heart-Shaped Vases With Hydroponic Begonias

Another fun choice for Valentine Day is these adorable heart-shaped test tube mini vases. They are displayed on a functional cement holder. I call these Living Valentines – they are way more fun than candy! And, you can follow my instructions for growing the begonias hydroponically until they outgrow the tube. The cuttings are fully rooted and ready to be transplanted if you prefer a more traditional plant. The test tube sprouter can be used to root your favorite cuttings!
