Welcome to Notes from the Hartt — an occasional update from Cathy Hartt, RN, DNP, local artist and retired healthcare provider making functional art from a 1940s workshop in Montrose. If you signed up at the Art Crawl, dropped your name in the drawing jar at Country Flair, or came by a Marketplace pickup or home event this summer, you’re in the right place.
Drawing Winner
Congratulations to Will S. — winner of the quarterly VW Bug planter drawing! Thanks to everyone who entered. The new drawing is underway — this quarter’s prize is a handcrafted stone pumpkin in rich fall colors, perfect for fall. Drop your name and email in the jar at the Country Flair booth (vendor 80) or attend one of my “Paint Your Own Yard Art” and Marketplace pick-up events.

Paint Your Own Garden Art — New This Summer
I’ve added something new to the open workshop days — a painting table with supplies, small handcrafted pieces to paint, and a relaxed come-and-go atmosphere. Currently available to paint: automobile planters, terra cotta pots, gnomes, cement leaf castings, and wood earrings — inventory rotates, so PM ahead if you have something specific in mind. Something for every skill level. Supplies included. Prices start at $5.

Local plant pickups and painting days also feature a small selection of specialty plants — succulents, cacti, and whatever is ready from the garden. Come take a peek.

Dates are flexible and posted same-day on Facebook and NextDoor. Email me to get advance notice — Announcements don’t always show up on social media feeds right away.
July at Country Flair
The gnomes are having a 4th of July picnic and setting off fireworks — stop by Vendor 80 at 337 E Main to see the July scene. The September pumpkin drawing prize will be on display next to the entry jar starting next week.

Etsy Summer Sale
Everything on Etsy except plants is 20% off through the end of summer — gnomes, planters, clocks, and more. Good time to grab something if you’ve been on the fence.
